We all don’t have the luxury of practicing all day every day like a pro. Here are a few tips to start racking up the hours of deliberate practice that are going to improve your golf game. You don’t need all 10,000, just a fraction is going to give you noticeable results.

Visualization: Imagine yourself on a golf course you know well and play through all 18 holes. Start with the driver, and then the subsequent clubs you need to get to the green. If you only have 30 minutes each night keep a record and keep the game going. Visualizing targets are going to get you much more out of each individual swing.

Rehearse your swing before each shot: Don’t mindlessly swing away. Step back and take a practice before your actual shot. You should be focused on the quality of the shot, not just contact with the ball.

Use your cell phone video recorder: We are lucky to live in an age with so much useful technology. Whether you practice in the garage, living room, driveway or back porch you should be able to find a ledge or chair to prop up your recording device to check out your swing.

Use a piece of tape for feedback: Place a piece of tape down directly where you want the ball to return. Try to make the ball come back exactly straight along the piece of tape. This is another take on really trying to improve your aim.

Use your wedges: Imagine the hole at different distances and hit towards it. Use you ChipIt! Chipping attachment and don’t just aim for the center hole. Alternate through each hole at different distances and angles.
